Welcome to Dharamshala Peace MarathonThis adventure marathon was born out of the inspiration to promote 'Universal World Peace' as well as inner harmony for peoples living in exile. The marathon takes place in Dharamshala in honour of the Tibetan people who are daily testimony to the path of non-violence even though displaced from their homeland for some 48 years now. The run will start at Tsuglakhang, the main temple built in 1960 as a replica of the most sacred temple, Jokhang in Lhasa, Tibet, which is part of HH Dalai Lama's monastery and residence, in McLeod Ganj, upper Dharamshala. The run will finish at the impressive kangra Fort, with breathtaking views of the sub-tropical Kangra valley and the snow capped peaks of Dhauladhar mountain range. Through international travel, adventure, sport, fun and this run together with friendly local dialogue we can bring more joy, happiness and peace to our lives. And of course while in India, one can experience the colourful diversity of cultures, the warmth of true hospitality and be transported by the spirituality that permeates all corners of Incredible India. Ultra marathon (55kms) will finish at Rani Tal, near the Toy Train Railway station The pre & post package tours offer unforgettable journeys across the Himalayas to the highlands of Ladakh (Little Tibet) & hidden Kingdom of Himachal Pradesh. The most memorable cultural visit will be to see the magnifnificient Taj mahal at the sun rise!! and the holy Golden temple at the sun set! RUN THE
